Our Agenda
Any self respecting professional organisation worth its salt, has an agenda. Professional Deaf Australians [PDA] is no exception.
Our agenda is simple and straight to the point. We aim to:
- create opportunities for Deaf people to develop their business interests
- create opportunities for Professional Deaf Australians to network both within business environments and as individual business people
- set up continuing professional development training programs
- create opportunities for Professional Deaf Australians to network both within business environments and as individual business people
- promote Professional Deaf Australians within the Deaf, Hearing and the business communities
- organise activities to encourage social and networking opportunities for Professional Deaf Australians
- create opportunities to present products and services to the Deaf and Hearing community in a positive environment
- provide a forum for high profile speakers to address Professional Deaf Australians on issues of interest to our members
- provide business services
- be an independent and bipartisan organisation that will serve all professional Deaf people
- ensure that Deaf people do not miss out on opportunities for career development and progression
- ensure that Hearing people have the opportunity to forge closer ties with Deaf businesses and Deaf professionals
- provide mentors and positive role models for Deaf people
- prove to young Deaf people, there is life as a Deaf person
- and anything else that is fun to do, that may crop up in the course of business.
