Meet and Greet: 30 January, 2010

Professional Deaf Australians had its first social networking event last Saturday, 30 January 2010. It was a successful event that saw a  mix of Deaf and Hearing people turn up to inaugurate the group.

Held at Kelly’s On King Street [a venue in Newtown, Sydney, that is becoming quite popular with Deaf people], the meet and greet was a social event intended as the first step in bringing Professional Deaf Australians together, and to allow them to network with each other.

Professional Deaf Australians is focussing its energies on people who are running their own businesses, in the process of setting up or planning to run their own businesses. There are plans to expand to include Deaf professionals who work for other businesses and organisations.

Photos and a write up of the Meet & Greetevent will be posted to Gone Fishing, over the next couple of days.
